Overview
Rome is one of the most fascinating cities on earth and it is considered to be one of the most important centers in the history of Western Civilization. It is known as the "Eternal City" but we like to call it the "Eternally Beautiful City" because it continually unfolds to visitors and even those that live there.
Rome is also home to Vatican City which is the largest independently controlled "city state" in the world and the Vatican is located in the center of Rome with a history as unique as Rome's.
To see Rome, you need at the very least 3 days and we recommend breaking your time up so that you don't wear yourself or your shoes out! It's best to leave a full day or at the very least a half day for the Vatican including St. Peter's, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
You will need at least one day to discover Ancient Rome including the Colosseum and another day to discover the monuments of Rome including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
There is no possible way to see all of Rome in a week - or even two. You need a lifetime to discover all that Rome has to offer, but you can definitely see many of the highlights in a couple of days.
If you are in a group of 3+ people we always recommend our private tour options since these options will be equally costly to the small grop tours and the private tour experiences are always a higher level of services, however our small group tours are also great and very convenient, usually including hotel-pick up.
