The Monti Sibillini National Park is located in Italy's high Appenine Mountain range which stretches the entire peninsula of Italy from Piedmont to Calabria. Many of these mountains like the Corno Grande in the Abruzzo region, reach nearly 10,000 feet, though many others are absolutely enormous. The Monti Sibillini park is a protected area ringed by the Grande Anello dei Sibillini trail.
It’s home to peaks like Mount Vettore, with Lake Pilato at its foothills. The park has abundant flora, including orchids, and is home to wolves and birds of prey. In the town of Visso, the 8-sided Sanctuary of Macereto features Renaissance frescoes. Southwest is the walled town of Norcia.
