Pantelleria Island, Sicily

Pantelleria Island, Sicily

Explore the Cities and Towns of Sicily

Overview

The island of Pantelleria is an island that is part of the nation of Italy, though it is closer in proximity geographically to Tunisia in Northern Africa than it is to Sicily and mainland Europe, making it the southern most point of Italy.

It is an island which has over the past ten years become progressively more well known for health, wellness and luxurious escapes, considering the famous Italian fashion mogul, Giorgio Armani himself owns a prestigious property here and regularly summers on the island.

Many wonderful, incredibly exclusive and romantic or holistic holiday spots can be found here. Yet, while the white sand beaches, stunning geography set against the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea are second-to-none, coupled with the food, wine and unique architecture particular to this island, there are many reasons why many come and find that Pantelleria is a world unto itself.

Most holiday makers here don't come to spend less than a week, since ferry travel is involved and there are many activities that seem to cause the days to go by quickly.  Perhaps it is the stupendous back-drop, the interesting position this island occupies between Europe and Africa and the sense that all time seems to be out of mind once you are here, however once you come, you will immediately feel that this is an island that gets into your soul and your bone quite literally making it very, very difficult to leave.
