Overview
The 'Villa Borghese' in Rome, Italy is an enormous park filled with gorgeous gardens, temples, statues and art collection, considered one of the most important in Italy and Europe.
Visiting these grounds, is something far too few visitors to Rome ever get to experience and it is such a shame, considering visiting the park is one of the greatest free sites for visitors to Rome to visit. Only the gallery has an admission cost, where guided tours area allowed, however wandering through the park's grounds is a totally free experience much like Central Park in New York or other city parks, so we recommend taking the afternoon or morning to simply wander through at a leisurely pace.
The Villa Borghese is the third largest public park in Rome (80 hectares or 197.7 acres) after the ones of the Villa Doria Pamphili and Villa Ada, which are equally outanding and beautiful to discover in their own right, but with only a few days in Rome, we highly recommend exploring the Villa Borghese park which is just behind Piazza Del Popolo, close to the Spanish Steps and other main attractions in Rome, which may be closer to where you may be staying.
Inside the gardens, you will find a large lake, where at the middle of it there is an 18th century "Temple of Aesculapius" where lovers, children, families come to enjoy a quick row-boat around it.
Strolling through the gardens, enjoying the wonderful gallery and just being at peace with the wonderful Mediterranean nature and green space is a wonderful way to really experience Roman life.
We can take you here and guide you through it, though you don't really need a guide... just to wander and get lost!
Italy Vacation Specialists can arrange many special activities for you including picnics, wonderful adventures for children and much more!
