Nobody here is in a hurry, and they are right.
Spain runs on its own clock. Lunch at three, dinner at ten, the square filling up when other countries are going to bed. Learn that rhythm and the whole place opens up. We plan your days around it rather than against it.
Overview
Discover Spain: Private Tours, Experiences & Custom Travel
Spain is a European country, however it is not of "Europe" so to speak in the sense that it has a completely unique identity and history thanks largely to the Pyrenees Mountains that physically isolate it from the rest of the Continent of Europe. Spain's seclusion contributed to the creation of unusual customs - bullfights, flamenco dancing, and a national obsession with ham!
With a population of 45 million, the country entertains 50 million tourists annually and there are so very many reasons why visitors from around the world want to come to Spain!
Spain is European, but it has never quite belonged to Europe in the ordinary sense. The Pyrenees cut it off from the rest of the continent for centuries, and that separation is exactly why it feels like nowhere else. Eight hundred years of Moorish rule left the Alhambra and the mezquita at Córdoba. The isolation left customs the rest of Europe never developed, from flamenco in Andalusia to a national devotion to good ham that has to be seen to be believed.
It is also a country that changes completely every few hours on the road. Barcelona and Gaudí, the Prado and the late dinners of Madrid, Seville in spring, San Sebastián and Basque cooking, the white villages of Andalusia and the quiet stretches of the Camino. It is one of the most visited countries on earth, and yet the best parts of it are still the ones nobody puts on a list.
