Overview
Chianciano Terme is a small town in south-eastern Tuscany, located on the cusp of the Orcia Valley, one of Tuscany's most incredible and noted landscapes, now considered a world heritage site. Many visitors to the area often travel to the towns of Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino while generally overlooking this incredible gem-stone of a town that has been famous in Italy and Europe for centuries, drawing visitors in the thousands each year who come to indulge in the thermal springs which abound this area that are not only great for soaking in, but are also ingested and can radically improve metabolism, circulation, blood-pressure, glycemic index (blood-sugar level) and much more.
In fact, this area has been inhabited before the times of the Romans by the Etruscan population who occupied central Italy between the 8th and 3rd centuries BC and this culture, who both pre-dated and were contemporaries of the Romans used the waters here for a variety of healing and beautification practices as recorded in a variety of archeological testaments in the local museum and in museums all over Italy.
At the present moment, there are few international tourists that come here, because they simply don't know about it and during the winter months, mostly Italians come here as a sort of winter restoration retreat on the weekend, although we are trying to change that, for there are so very many reasons to come to this wonderful place and immerse yourself in the sacred waters which cannot only heal your body, but also restore an overall sense of well-being.
There are a variety of natural spas, springs and complexes in this area dedicated to healing. They are not all easy to reach or understand how to get to, nor what they do.
We can help you full appreciate this town and all it offers! Please get in touch with us to learn more about Chianciano Terme!
