The Overview

The Casavecchia estate dates back to the 1200’s and is listed with the ‘Association of Italian Historical Homes’.  It makes an ideal base for small groups of friends or families and is a favorite retreat for artists and those looking to enjoy yoga, meditation or sheer Culinary delight.  

The property overlooks some of the most beautiful scenery in Tuscany and is right in the heart of the vineyards.  In fact, the Antinori family who is known for producing some of the most exceptional Chianti wines owned anThid designed the estate for their own purposes and pleaure.  The Antinori family tree which dates back to the 1200s is illustrated in the main foyer of the main villa.  

For those looking to organize an art or wellness retreat, the estate is one of the most ideal in all of Tuscany because the two villas, adjacent to each other, can accommodate up to 26 participants and they can be rented out either individualy or together and they are both absolutely beautiful, spacious, well-appointed and offer true Tuscan luxury.  From here, families, friends and students can easily access Florence and Siena that are respectively no more than 30 minutes driving away.  

An added benefit for groups is that the village is within walking distance where you can find a coffee and pastry shop as well as a pizzeria that offers some incredible pizza and pasta dishes with great views from the balcony over the countryside.  For early risers, a short stroll through the vineyards will bring you right into the heart of this charming Tuscan town.  

Both of the properties on site are absolutely beautiful and offer large communal spaces, fantastic furnishings and views over the fabulous Tuscan Countryside.  Renting both properties in tandem allows use of the spaces in each facility and can essentailly become a delux Tuscan campus of sorts for those lookign to organize painting and artistic retreats as well as hollistic or wellness retreats.  

The main "VILLA"  can accommodate up to 12 people and has it own private, very beautiful and secluded private swimming pool.  

It includes the following room types: 

            3 x double bedrooms with bathroom en suite
            2 x twin bedrooms with bathroom en suite
            1 x large twin bedroom with separate guest bathroom.
 
The property includes the following features: 
  • The comfortable sitting room, dinning room with frescoed walls and two of the bedrooms all have doors that lead out into the garden.
  • Television with SKY, DVD player and computer with WiFi are available.
  • The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave oven, gas stove/oven and two fridges.
  • A laundry room with washing machine and iron is available for your use.

The adjacent property known as IL GIOGO is a fully restored double storey ‘casa colonica’ dating back to the 1800's and also offers guests a private swimming pool overlooking the Chianti vineyards which can accommodate up to 14 participants.   

It includes the following room types: 
 
6 on the ground floor:
 
            3 x twin bedrooms with bathroom en suite.
 
Airy sitting room and fully equipped kitchen both leading out onto a covered loggia ideal for "al-fresco" entertaining.
 
Up one flight of stairs to a TV room with DVD player.
 
Another flight of stairs leads to a second sitting room with large windows offering wonderful views, a large farm style kitchen with fireplace and another 4 bedrooms:
 
            2 x double bedrooms with bathroom en suite
            2 x twin bedrooms with bathroom to share
 
IL GIOGO makes a very special holiday home, rented out on a weekly self-catering basis. In winter months this home may be split for 6 OR 8 people.
