On this five day itinerary you will get the chance to discover the fertile wine growing region around Lake Garda. Your tour will take in the gorgeous lakeside towns of Sirmione, Bardolino and Lazise where medieval castles and churches with frescoes from the school of Giotto will amaze you, while evening walks along the shores overlooking the Alps will make you feel renewed and revitalised.

The focus of this tour is on sampling some of the best wines that the region has to offer, from Amarone and Valpolicella red wines near the lake, to sparkling wines from the Valdobbiadene region close to Treviso that is world famous for its Prosecco.

This makes a perfect add on to your trip to Venice or Bologna.

Itinerary

Where we Visit : Lake Garda,

Pick up from your hotel or the airport this morning. Transfer to the first stop on the trip, a historic winery in the heart of the Valpolicella wine-growing region. Here you can marvel at the beauty of the 18th century villa and its surrounding vineyards and well-kept gardens. After a tour of the winery and finding out all about the Valpolicella winemaking process, you will get the chance to taste some of their finest wines, including Valpolicella Classico and Amarone Riserva.

Lunch including locally made cold cuts and cheeses will follow.

Overnight stay on Lake Garda.

Where we Visit : Lake Garda,

You will be picked up from your Lake Garda hotel this morning and taken on a full day tour of the area.

The stunning towns of Lazise and Sirmione will be visited, along with a local winery overlooking the lake.

Today's winery is famous for having an exceptional Rosé, a long-preserved tradition along the south banks of Lake Garda due to its exceptional terroir. Another special wine from this estate is the Cuvèe made using the Metodo Classico, which matches exceptionally well with Parmesan cheese and fish dishes.

Overnight on the lake.

Where we Visit : Lake Garda,

Today you will have the chance to relax at one of the finest spas on Lake Garda, immersed in a lush green forest. The Cedar Tree Villa is one of the most magnificent spas in Italy and boasts two large thermal lakes with geysers, jacuzzis and waterfalls, which are the ideal place for relaxing and unwinding after a long trip. The water in the main lake stays at a constant 95F, the perfect temperature to promote relaxation in the human body, while there are two pools you can swim to in the middle of the lake where the temperature reaches 105F. There is also an on-site gym, relaxation area and massage & wellness centre and it is the perfect place to spend a full day.

A lakeside dinner can be organised in the town of Lazise.

Overnight at the lake.

Where we Visit : Valdobbiadene,

You will be picked up by your driver and taken on a full day tour to wineries in the Veneto region. Today's focus will move to sparkling wines, namely the famous local Valdobbiadene, one of this region's most famous exports.

This Palladian villa and winery were founded in the 17th century and the same family have been running it with passion and dedication ever since. All of the wines are DOC and DOCG, making them some of the most prestigious Prosecco Valdobbiadene on the market.

Lunch in the winery.

In the afternoon a visit to the historic town of Treviso, with its Renaissance squares, frescoed buildings, ancient waterways and charming atmosphere. There are plenty of fine Medieval buildings and churches, including the famous church of San Francesco, where Dante's son was laid to rest.

Overnight in Venice.

Where we Visit : Venetian Lagoon,

Take a trip around the islands of Venice and see a side of the Serenissima that few tourists get to see. Your boat tour will show you the delights of Murano, famous for its rich history of glass-making, Burano, a colourful island of fishermen and lacemakers, and Torcello, with its 1000 year old cathedral.

Lunch on Burano island.

You may choose to extend your trip and stay in Venice or take a private transfer back to the Venice International Airport.
