The Overview
Asolo is a small Renaissance town located on a hilltop with open views of the Alpine foothills and the plains of Veneto. Over the years it has been the favored destination of artists and scholars due to its unquestionable charm and magical atmosphere. Eleonora Duse, the English poet Browning and the British traveler Freja Stark lived here, and Ernest Hemingway also stayed in the area for a while.
This private and unique independent villa typical of the Veneto region is just a few steps away from the center of Asolo, in a panoramic position below the town’s fortress. The view covers the surrounding plains and, on clear days, it is possible to glimpse the Euganean Hills and, in the distance, Venice.
Built in 1696, is made up of four parts: the villa in the center and, at the sides, the typical Venetian “barchesse” (outhouses) which were the ancient stables and barn, one of which is completely autonomous and used as a residence for the owners and staff. The sophisticated and elegant interior is embellished with stuccoes that enhance the walls and ceilings, in late Baroque style.
The property is surrounded by a large park with trees and very old plants, climbing wisteria and a beautiful rambling rose garden. The terrace and garden have areas for relaxing with beach umbrellas and armchairs where guests can enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
On the eastern side of the villa there is a large panoramic terrace covered by a pergola where it is possible to eat “al fresco”.
A pathway immersed in fruit and olive-trees leads to the panoramic swimming pool (18 x 6 m) that has sun-beds, deckchairs, beach umbrellas and an adjoining changing room with shower and toilet facilities. There is also a pergola furnished as a dining area, with kitchenette, barbecue, refrigerator and a large table that seats 12.
The villa has WI-FI internet connection, laundry-room with washing machine and tumble-drier, satellite TV, crib, children’s cot and highchair. The twin bedrooms and double rooms all have air conditioning.
GROUND FLOOR: Spacious lounge with fireplace; study with fireplace; dining-room; professional kitchen with fireplace, dishwasher, microwave; orangery used as a children’s and fitness area ; 2 downstairs bathrooms; laundry-room with washing machine and tumble-drier.
FIRST FLOOR: spacious living-room; 2 double bedrooms with bathroom with bathtub and shower.
SECOND FLOOR: walk-in closet; 1 double bedroom with bathroom with bathtub and shower and adjoining small bedroom with single bed; 1 twin bedroom with bathroom with bathtub and shower; 1 bedroom with French-style bed; 1 single bedroom; 1 bathroom with bathtub and shower.
ANNEX (50 meters away from the villa)
FIRST FLOOR: lounge with relaxation area.
SECOND FLOOR (with independent entrance) 1 double bedroom; study with sofa-bed; kitchen with kitchenette equipped with dishwasher and microwave; 1 bathroom with bathtub and shower.
All the twin bedrooms or double rooms have air conditioning.
