Overview

Volterra occupies an incredible position overlooking an amazing, often unbelievable landscape in all directions. It is one of the highest towns in Tuscany and offers visitors a step back through time into Etruria and a look at the Etruscans, though it is the landscape surrounding the town which is shocking to everyone that visits. On this tour we explore Volterra and stop in San Gimignano, a medieval village that dates back thousands of years.

Over the course of the day you will have time for shopping, enjoying the towns, the landscapes and stopping for lunch at a local farm or inside the town (depending on what you are feeling to do). Our guide-drivers know the area so well and intimately, having grown up in Tuscany, their insight and knowledge about the territory will have you feeling like you are traveling with friends and locals who care about preserving the local tradition and culture unique to the Tuscan region.

Pick up and drop off at your hotel in Florence or a variety of locations in Tuscany is possible and we can modify this tour to include further sites of interest, wineries or even a visit to Pisa if time permits.
