San Nicola Arcella, Calabria

San Nicola Arcella is an elegant and picturesque town located on the Cedri Riviera, which is a stretch of coastline with some fantastic towns on the Mediterranean coast of northern Calabria. 

The town is home to some great beaches and beach clubs and Arcomagno which is beach quite literally inside an enormous grotto where sun shines through the top of the arch.  Literally translated, it means the 'Arch who Eats' and it is an impressive site to behold as is the entire coast in this vicinity, however the town itself is quite stunning and offers a variety of wonderful restaurants, pizzerias and even dance clubs like Clubbino and others which have great entertainment in so far as dining options and as well as dancing are concerned.

This is a beautiful place and one that particularly comes alive in the evenings with shops and restaurants opening up their doors and the tables and chairs lining the central piazzas. 

Located directly on the coast, facing Praia a Mare and great access to beach towns, this is a really wonderful stop to make when enjoying a vacation in Calabria.  

Because of language issues in this area and because of the many sites of interest nearby, we do recommend visiting with a local guide who can often take you to the hidden gems and best restaurants in these areas.
