Pietrapertosa, Basilicata

Pietrapertosa is an incredible mountain village located in what are known as the southern Dolomites.  It's spectacular location makes this town one you certainly do not want to miss when visiting southern Italy.  It is impressive both during the day and at night, when the lights of the houses seem to fall down the mountains and seem to create a magical feel. 

This town is also home to the Volo D'angelo and a magnificent castle that is a steep climb, but well worth it for the impressive view.

During our tour of the area, we recommend being able to easily climb 30 flights of stairs and wear good footwear to make it to the top, however most active people, even if it takes longer should be able to make it without any problems.
