Macerata, Marche

Macerata is a glorious hill-top town and also a province in Italy's Marche region which offers spectacular views over the countryside and valleys below.  The town is home to the Macerata opera festival held in the summer time which draws thousands of visitors each year. 

It's location is spectacular and only 35 minutes from the coast and towns like Civitanova Marche a resort town with fine white sand beaches and beach clubs. 

The town itself is charming with a large central piazza, fine shops and great restaurants.
