The castle is situated near Cagli, in the Northern side of the Marches, at the crossroads of Umbria, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, on top of a rocky outcrop.
The Overview
The castle is situated near Cagli, in the Northern side of the Marches, at the crossroads of Umbria, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, on top of a rocky outcrop. This unique medieval fortification offers a 360 ° view over the entire valley of the Candigliano river. The complex consists of a main building, the castle, located on the highest part of the promontory, a second edifice, so-called forepart, which was built in later periods and the guesthouse or “Foresteria”, located lower down, below the castle.
The exterior of the castle has remained nearly intact over time and vaguely reminds the hull of a ship. Through an arched doorway you can access the outdoor enclosure, a large half-round structure that reaches up to the sheer rock cliff. A five-year restoration returned the entire structure to its former glory, whilst merging the architectural and historical heritage with innovative solutions made it a unique location for exclusive holidays. Particularly impressive is the large semi-circular tower which rises at the rear of the building.
In some of the first-floor rooms, you can admire eighteenth-century frescoes. The castle is equipped with all comforts: satellite TV, Wi Fi, spa with Jacuzzi pool, sauna, hammam, relaxation area with chromotherapy. The use of the SPA is limited to 4 hours a day. For security reasons it is required the presence of a professional beauty assistant. The time can be decided by the guests. A large outdoor area reaches out across the ramparts, where the ancient footbridge has been rebuilt using modern techniques, and from where you can admire the restored remains of the old village which once stood all around. The castle is located at approximately 9 km from Acqualagna where you can taste different kinds of truffles all over the year, thanks to the ideal climate and soil conditions of the surrounding area, and where, at each October end, the most important national White Truffle Fair is held; 28 km from Urbino, pearl of the Italian Renaissance for its historic, artistic and cultural heritage; approximately 50 km from the beaches of the Adriatic Sea and 35 from Gubbio, the prestigious ancient Umbrian town.

GROUND FLOOR: private dining room with TV, a professional coffee machine and refrigerated wine cellar; large dining room; breakfast room; kitchen with 3 professional pasta cookers, dishwasher, oven, blast chiller, refrigerator and freezer.
FIRST FLOOR: living room with piano; library with access outside to the footbridge; 1 double bedroom with bathroom with shower; 1 suite with double bed and bathroom with shower; 1 suite with double bed, bathroom with shower and a small kitchen.
BASEMENT: large basement with pantry.
FOREPART with access from the outside: Private Consecrated Chapel; meeting room with 100 seats; spa with hammam, sauna, large Jacuzzi tub, relaxation area with chromotherapy, dressing room, 2 bathrooms and 2 showers.
