Overview

Pavia is a beautiful university town located approximately 45 minutes by car, south of Milan. It is well known for the Certosa di Pavia which is located just north of the town, which is one of the most impressive Renaissance monastery complexes in northern Italy.

In the city center, the centuries-old University of Pavia houses the University History Museum. It displays scientific and medical equipment dating as far back as the Middle Ages.

The university’s botanic garden has roses and medicinal plants.
