Overview
Lecco is the largest city on Lake Como located at the foot of Mt. Resegone, which offers hikers a vareity of beautiful trails for all levels and the Piani d'Erna, a look out point that is accessible by cable car.
Nearby, there are many regional parks like Monte Barro which also offers several paths, plus some impressive ruins found at the Costa Perla, birdwatching station.
The city itself is charming and worthwhile of a visit to experience a less touristy place than some of the others around the lake. The Basilica of San Nicolo' has a wonderful and very high neo-Gothic bell tower.
