Agropoli

Cities and Towns in Campania

Visitors access the historic center of Agropoli, dominated by the ancient castle, via a steep flight of steps and an ancient gateway. With terraces gazing out across thedazzling waters of the Tyrrhenian sea, the town enjoys a splendid position on the coast of Cilento, bordering the National Park of the Cilento and the Vallo di Diano. The coast of Agropoli is characterised by a series of stunning beaches and sea caveslying beneath cliffs such as those of "Trentova" and "San Francesco", this latter the place where Saint Francis is said to have conversed with the fish in 1222.

Close by there are a number of places more than worthy of visit, such as Palinuro, Marina di Camerota, and the famous archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia. Each year, Agropoli hosts a series of popular events including a Carnival and the re-enactment of the Assault perpetrated by the Turks on the town in 1630. In July, the Festa della Madonna di Costantinopoli is held, complete with a spectacular procession of boats.

Incredible Experiences in Italy for Exceptional Prices

Client Testimonials

I have traveled to Italy 2x with the IVS for my own pleasure trips and 2x for business with IVS. These guys really pay attention and make your trip go like clockwork. Italy is nuts, just saying! There are so many rules and restrictions now, so we did not want to drive ourselves. Having traveled with them many times and done business on several occasions, most definitely USE this company. They know what they are talking about. They will save you not only MONEY but also time. Please contact me personally if you do not believe this. I am happy to tell you first hand that this company truly is awesome and will make your experience in Italy unforgettable - in a good way, of course!
