The "Villa Tomeu" was a 12th century church restored in 1934 by architect Barluzzi
This is a very characteristic villa overlooking the enchanted Gulf of Salerno, at only ten minutes drive from Amalfi, Ravello " the pearl of Amalfitan coast " that stands close by the beautiful garden Villa Rufolo where Wagner composed the famous "Parsifal"
The ruins of an ancient church of 12th century has been restored and transformed into a villa the 1934 from architect Giulio Barluzzi who also planned its fittings and furnishing.
The Villa stands on a cliff walls suspended above the sea, its front face the blue Mediterranean sea
Its side is surrounded by green woods and the ancient pine tree. It has a flower garden which neighbor Villa Rufolo famous as fantastic location where take place the famous Ravello Classical Musical Festival, known worldwide and where all the most famous director came to play classical music.
The superb living room with vaulted ceiling, divided in three sections by two rows of Columns has a stately as well as romantic charm.
A beautiful view of the coast can be enjoyed from the many terraces and from the tower, located in the highest point of the villa where you can enjoy the full view of the coast and the mountains
The Villa is furnished with exquisite taste and its decor is completed with original Oriental wall tapestries.
Living accommodation afford every modern comfort, the five bed bedrooms with antiques, the bathrooms are all supplied with new fixture
The Villa has a total of 5 bedrooms with 9 sleeps and 5 bathrooms and it is on 3 floors.
The ground floor is composed of a large entrance that take to:
a spacious living/dining room with exit to the garden overlooking the sea
a modest kitchen
a dining area with a terrace overlooking the sea
a bathroom with a shower
The fist room with a single bed is reachable climbing 14 steps
Adding other 8 steps it is possible to reach the second floor with 3 bedrooms each with a private bathroom:
A bedroom with a double bed and possibility to have twin beds, bathroom with a bathtub and terrace overlooking the sea
A bedroom with a double bed and possibility to have twin beds and bathroom with a shower
A bedroom with twin beds, a veranda, a bathroom with a shower and access to a terrace
From the second level climbing 19 steps it is possible to reach the last floor with a large terrace that take you to a bedroom with a double bed and possibility to have twin beds and a bathroom with a shower
A lady (English Speaking) take care of the villa with a weekly cleaning and change of
Linen and towels. A cleaning during the week is included
On request and with an extra charge the cleaner can also came daily or for few hours during your staying. She would also pleased to prepare your meals and dinners
Among the many characteristics of this incomparable villa are its superb windows, some vaulted some mullioned and its floors all entirely covered by original "Capodimonte" majolica in a lovely shade of turquoise.
The villa has also lemon gardens for approximately 300 square meters. The interior of the villa are aprrox 500 square meters and there are five terraces overlooking the sea where you can have a beautiful landscape of the Amalfi Coast
