Fattoria Poggio Alloro

Agriturismo Siena, Tuscany

The name Poggio Alloro, which translates to "Bay Leaf Hill," alludes to the bay laurel shrubs that abound on our land.

The Overview

The name Poggio Alloro, which translates to "Bay Leaf Hill," alludes to the bay laurel shrubs that abound on our land. It is only 5 miles from San Gimignano and surrounded by green fields and rolling hills.

Only 5 miles from San Gimignano, in the immaculately renovated farm house, you'll find our simple, genuine hospitality amid the gorgeous Tuscan rolling hills. The agriturismo has one apartment and ten Tuscan-style rooms, each with its own bathroom and shower.

The swimming pool overlooks San Gimignano's towers in the summer, while a cosy fireplace will keep you warm in the winter, either in the breakfast room or the main room. The fresh milk from our two dairy cows, a slice of breakfast cake still warm from the oven, homemade jam, fresh fruits, and other goodies make mornings sweet. The expansive terrace, complete with tables and umbrellas, is the ideal setting for relaxing with a book, a glass of wine, or both.

Daytime activities for our visitors include exploring the farm or taking in some of Tuscany's many historical and natural attractions. Thanks to the farm's ideal position, Siena, Florence, Montalcino, Pienza, the Chainti region, and many other towns and cities are accessible. A vibrant environment is created during the day with events including lunches, wine tastings, and farm visits. Dinners are always provided at large tables in the evening so that all of our guests may enjoy our delicacies while dining together, sharing a bottle of wine, and having fun. Both for lunch and dinner, the restaurant does require reservations.

You can taste various local dishes and specialties from the Tuscan culinary tradition at Fattoria Poggio Alloro, along with their family recipes. All of the dishes are always served with wines that they make and bottle. They often cook using seasonal and organic ingredients that are straight from the farm.

The rooms are simple and tastefully decorated in a Tuscan manner. Each room includes a private bathroom with a shower, bed linens, towels, and pool towels in addition to complimentary Wi-Fi, a heater/air conditioner, and in some cases, a safe. Animals are not permitted here.
