Halfway between Florence and Siena, along the antique consular road "Cassia," lies the Montalpruno Estate.
The Overview
The Montalpruno Estate is located halfway between Florence and Siena, along the ancient consular road "Cassia." This Chianti estate spans 43 hectares and is dedicated to the cultivation of grapes and olives. It is situated on a beautiful hill overlooking the ancient walls of Staggia Senese, only a few minutes drive from Monteriggioni and San Gimignano.
Staggia Senese is a small town that has been around for over 1,000 years. In fact, it celebrated its tenth centennial in 1994. The town's castle was once home to a famous Lombard family. One of their descendants founded a church in honor of St. Mary on the site.
The Montalpruno Estate produces Chianti wine, olive oil, Vinsanto, and Grappa, as well as various grain crops. There are also uncultivated areas that, in the spring, are covered with poppies. Picturesque paths through these areas lead to adjacent farms.
The estate's vineyards, olive groves, and orchards are surrounded by extensive outdoor areas. The wine harvest is done by hand, and the grapes are immediately transported to the nearby cellar, which is located in the middle of the estate. Here, we aim to obtain the best quality of our wine using the latest available modern technology. In fact, the small quantity produced permits a careful following up of the whole process.
