Barolo wines are some of the most notable in the world and this area is at the center of the Langhe wine district.   The town of Barolo itself is very small and nestled in the hills of the Langhe.  It is very picturesque and offers expansive views over the countryside.

The town is home to a very small population, most of whom work in vineyards or own small cafes, wine shops or accommodations that cater to tourists visiting the area. 

For guests, this town is a great option to enjoy some of the very best food and wine in Italy while visiting the surrounding wineries, although it is very small and may make a better stop for lunch than an a long-term stay in the region since there are limited dining and accommodation options.
