Overview
Lake Garda is the largest lake of its kind in Italy and in fact spans THREE different regions, from Veneto in the east to Lombardy in the west and mountainous Trentino in the north. From the wine-growing regions on the Veneto side, to exhilarating watersports in the north of the lake. On this tour you will get to discover the best of what the lake has to offer in just one day. You can, of course, extend your trip if you would like to explore one area more and enjoy a few relaxing days by the lake.
Lazise, your first stop on the tour, is set on the east shore of Lake Garda, south of Bardolino at the feet of the Morainic hills. Famous for its Castle Scaligero and medieval walls that surround the town, it is easy to see it's appeal. Lake Garda is a very chic location, where some of Italy's best-dressed come to holiday and wine & dine on the shores of the lake. Lazise has a wonderful old town centre, with narrow alleys and picturesque squares, a harbour set right in the city centre and countless impressive residences including Villa Pergolana, Villa Bernini, which is set on the lakeside and surrounded by antique towers and medieval Villa Bottona to name but a few.
Bardolino will be your second stop of the day. While not as grand as Lazise, it is certainly not lacking charm. Famous for its eponymous wine, it is a must-see destination for visitors to Lake Garda, and today you will learn all about its colourful history in the winemaking industry. Your trip will also take you to the Olive Oil museum where you can learn about the other famous export from Bardolino.
