Whether or not you get a chance to visit Como town during your holiday on Lake Como, make it a point to take the gondola/furnicular up to Brunante town, for there are truly spell-binding views over the entire lake and surrounding mountains from the sumit.

The Como–Brunate funicular is a railway that connects the city of Como with the village of Brunate and the line has operated since 1894, and is used by both tourists and local residents.

At the height, there are some wonderful walks to be taken and gorgeous villas with wonderful gardens keeping in the Italian tradition to explore. A wonderful lunch spot, with fascinating views, definitely not a stop to miss on your journey in the Italian Lake District!
