Overview

Trento is a beautiful and interesting town located in the heart of Italy's Trentino-Alto-Adige region, high in the north and nestled in a beautiful valley between two mountain ranges. The city is famous for one of the most impressive Christmas markets in all of Europe, though it is a delight to visit any time of year thanks to the beautiful alpine resorts all over the region.

The city itself has an interesting Historical Centre and is famous for the Buonconsiglio Castle, home to late-medieval fresco cycles. Trento Cathedral, featuring a rose window and a baroque chapel, sits on Piazza Duomo. Also on the main square (Piazza Centrale) is the Casa Cazuffi-Rella, a Renaissance building with a frescoed facade.

It is a bustling city with many famous Italian designer brand shops, however the region is home to some of Italy's most notable wines and serves unique norther cuisine which has been influenced by the Swiss, Austrians and French. it very unique and highly flavorful making it the perfect place to sample some of Italy's finest northern food.
