This beautiful cottage is located at a 15 min drive from the famed Etruscan and medieval town of Cortona (15km), main cultural and artistic centre of the Val di Chiana after Arezzo. The holiday home is the outbuilding of an old farmhouse, dating back to the 18th century, where the owners live. According to local authorities, the farmhouse was in ancient times used as a resting place for travellers and their horses, from which derives its unique and exquisite farming architecture. Positioned on top of a hill, the cottage enjoys a breathtaking view over the typical Tuscan countryside of wheat fields, sunflowers, olive groves and cypresses. The house has recently been renovated in respect of the traditional rural style together with simple elegance and modern comforts. Furnished in very good taste, the cottage, all on the ground floor can guest up to 6 people, consists of a very bright living room (with a single sofa bed), kitchen and comfortable 2 bedrooms (1 double and one with twin bed, convertible into double) with En-Suite bathrooms; an additional sofa bed is located into one bedroom. Outside there is a porch for outdoor meals, a barbecue and a small private garden with a wonderful view over the countryside. Also available a swimming pool (12x6, open May-Oct), shared with the owners who will avoid disturbing the guests’ privacy. On request mountain bikes as well as delicious homemade Tuscan dishes made by the hostess, who is an excellent cook. This villa in an ideal location for those wishing to spend a quiet and pleasant vacation in the countryside and for those with cultural and art interests. In fact, Siena (50km), Arezzo (38km), Florence (95km), Montepulciano (20km), Pienza (25km), Assisi (80km) and Perugia (55km) are easily accessible. Next restaurant and food shops, ca. 2 km away.
