Historical Timeline
- 500 BC: The discovery of an ancient Etruscan stele at Travignoli portrays an opulent wine feast, revealing the cultural significance of wine in their daily and spiritual life.
- 1100 AC: Vallembrosan annals document the existence of vineyards at the site of Travignoli dating to November 28, 1100.
- 1473: Travignoli and its adjoining farms are bequeathed to the Florentine hospital Santa Maria Nuova by its last private owner, Aloisia.
- 1607: The estate is highlighted as the crown jewel of Santa Maria Nuova's properties by its hospital director, Barnaba degli Oddi, featuring extensive cellars and productive oil mills.
- 1800: Post the union of Sofia Cuccoli Fiaschi and Count Francesco Busi, Villa Travignoli is integrated into the Busi lineage.
- 1924: Count Clemente Busi's exceptional Chianti wine secures a gold medal at Rome's international wine exhibition. His pioneering spirit leads him to become a co-founder of the Chianti Putto Consortium in 1927.
- 1960: Giampiero Busi revolutionizes the estate from sharecropping to direct cultivation, advancing the winemaking process with new technologies.
