Peschiera del Garda is so colorful against the back-drop of spectacular Lake Garda it quite literally makes your eyes pop-out of your head as you step back to take it all in! It is quite literally a 'sight for sore eyes' as some would say.

The town itself is a resort town only 25 minutes driving from Verona and Sirmione which are some of the more well known locations in the area, however Lazise is a stop you do not want to miss on Lake Garda, not only for its beauty but also for its historic importance. The 16th-century Porta Verona is one of the gateways in the old city walls that ring the historic center.

The (Historic Palace) 'Palazzina Storica' Museum houses frescoes and WWI objects. Across the Mincio River, the Madonna del Frassino Sanctuary features 16th-century cloisters. Water birds inhabit the nearby Lago del Frassino nature reserve.

It has throughout history been an important get-away for the rich aristocrats from Verona and nearby in-land towns.
