The Overview
The hotel's name, "Hotel Art," is a perfect reflection of its artistic inspiration. Located in one of the most charming areas of the city, less than 50 meters away from the Spanish Steps, this hotel is a breath of fresh air in Rome. The hotel was built on the premises of one of the oldest colleges in Rome, and its history is nothing short of inspiring.
The entrance to the hotel is a minimalist corridor that imitates the numerous art galleries lining Via Margutta, a long pedestrian corridor. The walls of the corridor are covered with shining white marble, the floor is paved with white cobbles, and the illumination is a creation by the renowned artist Enzo Catellani, leading to the main hall.
The hotel is particularly known for its use of colors. The corridors that lead to the 46 rooms and suites on the four floors are distinguished by four different colors: blue, orange, yellow, and green. These colors become increasingly intense as you approach your guest room. The materials used to line the walls, glass, and resin, combine strong colors with transparency to amplify the space. On the ground, strips of light run along the sides of the corridor, and on these strips, lines by poets like Garcia Lorca and Octavio Paz are written.
