The city of Parma is an often overlooked jewel of a city located in the region of Emilglia Romagna in Italy's central north which we highly recommend. For those interested this area of Italy for the gastronomic highlights of the area, it is an absolute must see and we include in our top three MUST SEE areas in this region for a variety of reasons.

The city of Parma has a very unique feel due to the Parisian influence by Maria Luigia of Austria married to Napoleon and her influence to date is felt everywhere in this unique city, known as the 'Paris of Italy' and you can feel it everywhere.
