There's no better way to make the most of your limited time in Venice than to explore the city with a local guide. Your guide will meet you in a motorboat at the port to start your tour. The initial hour of the tour will be spent on the water, where you'll get a sense of Venice and its fascinating history. You will see the Grand Canal that snakes through the city and discover some of its significant buildings and the stories of the people living there. In the calmer canal, you will witness the authentic Venice, where families have resided and foreign traders have visited for hundreds of years. The tour will continue for two hours on foot, during which you'll visit some of the city's iconic landmarks, such as the Rialto Bridge, and see some of its lesser-known secrets.

After lunch (not included), you can visit St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. You'll learn about the Doges and their position in the political and economic life of the Republic, as well as the artistic legacy of the palace they inhabited on the corner of St. Mark's Square.

We may also include a gondola ride to complete your Venetian experience before you come back to the cruise ship in time for your departure.
