After having breakfast at your hotel in Naples or the Amalfi Coast, your driver will pick you up and take you to Pompeii where you will meet your local guide. You will have the opportunity to spend the morning exploring the site with your guide and learn about what life was like in this important trading town until AD79.
Your tour will take you to some of the most famous sites of the town, including the Forum, theaters, and amphitheater. You will get to see where people lived, worshipped and worked and learn what they were doing on the day of the eruption. Following the tour, you will have time for lunch. In the afternoon, your driver will take you up the side of the volcano, which dominates the skyline across the Bay of Naples. If you would like to visit the crater, you will need to walk the final part of the way with the volcano staff (€10 per person).
