A short walk away, the Palermo Cathedral is a masterpiece of architectural fusion. Marvel at its blend of Arab, Norman, Gothic, and Baroque styles, reflecting Sicily’s multicultural heritage. Step inside to see the royal tombs and climb to the rooftop for panoramic views of the city.

Quattro Canti (Four Corners)
Stroll to Quattro Canti, the heart of Palermo’s historic center. This Baroque square, with its symmetrical fountains and statues representing the four seasons, Spanish kings, and saints, is a perfect spot for photos and people-watching.

Church of San Cataldo and La Martorana
Nearby, visit the Church of San Cataldo, with its distinctive red domes, a reminder of Palermo’s Arab-Norman past. Next door, the Church of Santa Maria dell’Ammiraglio (La Martorana) boasts some of the most dazzling Byzantine mosaics in Sicily.

Conclude your tour with a sensory adventure at the Ballarò Market, Palermo’s oldest and most vibrant street market. Following our time in Palerrmo's historical center, we will take a drive up to Cathedral of Monreale, located just outside Palermo. It is one of Sicily’s most important and iconic religious and architectural landmarks and a UNESCO world heritage site. Built in the 12th century by Norman King William II, it represents the pinnacle of Arab-Norman architecture, a style unique to Sicily that blends Byzantine, Islamic, and Western European influences. The cathedral is a masterpiece of Arab-Norman design, combining elements of Romanesque structure with Islamic ornamental patterns and Byzantine mosaics.Its exterior features fortifications typical of Norman churches, while the cloister showcases intricate Islamic-style arches and carvings.
Inside, you will witness Spectacular Mosaics. The interior is adorned with 6,500 square meters of gold mosaics, among the largest and most magnificent in the world. These mosaics narrate biblical stories, from Genesis to the life of Christ, with extraordinary detail and artistry.The Christ Pantocrator mosaic, dominating the apse, is particularly awe-inspiring and one of the most famous depictions of Christ in Christian art. The adjoining Benedictine cloister is a marvel of medieval craftsmanship, featuring 228 intricately carved columns with unique capitals. Many depict biblical stories, mythological scenes, and Islamic-inspired geometric patterns.

Its narrow, winding streets, seaside vistas, and vibrant culture make it one of Sicily's most enchanting destinations.

After breakfast at the hotel this morning, we will be there to meet you to begin our full day guided experience of Gozo and Comino, which is as much a journey through the incredible Mediterranean natural landscape as it is through history.
Morning
- Ferry to Gozo: Start your day with a trip to Malta’s sister island.
- Visit the Ä gantija Temples, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, older than the Pyramids of Giza.
- Explore Victoria (Rabat) and the Citadel, a fortified city offering stunning views of Gozo.
Afternoon
- Ramla Bay: Relax on this picturesque red-sand beach or explore the nearby Calypso’s Cave, tied to Homer’s Odyssey.
- Enjoy a farm-to-table lunch featuring Gozo’s fresh produce and cheeses.
Evening
- Comino’s Blue Lagoon: Stop by Comino on your way back to Malta for a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon.
