Overview

Italy has repeatedly been recognized as one of the healthiest countries in the world. The reason behind this is balance. Italians maintain balance in their work, eating, drinking, and lifestyle. Despite having access to delicious foods and wines, Italians rarely overindulge.

In this tour, we will explore some of northern Italy's health sanctuaries. These thermal spa locations are not just for astronauts who need rejuvenation after being in space, but also for seniors who want to revitalize their bodies. The natural healing waters in Italy are known for their therapeutic properties, which not only help the body, but also provide a sense of well-being and increase metabolism.

The Romans and Greeks have been using natural hot springs for thousands of years to cure various ailments and promote general wellness. As travel professionals, we can help seniors experience the wonderful impact of natural thermal springs all over Italy. This trip will also offer opportunities to experience amazing food, wine, and scenery in Emilia Romagna, the culinary capital of Italy.

Itinerary

Where we Visit : Castelli Romani, Emilia-Romagna,

As our week in ancient Etruria draws to a close, we would like to extend an invitation to our guests to continue their exploration of the wonders of Central Italy by joining us for four more days in Emilia Romagna.

Starting from Villa Tuscolana, we will drive north, stopping along the way for lunch, and arrive in the afternoon at the 18th-century Palazzo di Varignana Resort and SPA, just outside Bologna. You will have the rest of the afternoon to visit the site and enjoy the spa facilities.

Emilia Romagna is renowned for its food and tonight you will get to see why. We will enjoy a welcome dinner of local cuisine in the poolside restaurant of the spa before spending the night in the magnificent 18th-century villa.

Where we Visit : Modena, Parma,

Some internationally-renowned and protected designation of origin products come from Emilia Romagna such as Parma Ham, Parmesan Cheese, and Balsamic Vinegar. Today's itinerary includes private tours and tastings at Salumificio La Perla, the Parma Ham factory, Hombre, where you will learn about the production and ageing of organic Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P., as well as the Acetaia Leonardi, which has been producing Balsamic Vinegar since the 19th century. The day will conclude with a site inspection of Antica Corte Pallavicina, a 14th-century castle with a rustic-feel and a Michelin star restaurant. Overnight stay will be at Palazzo di Varignana Resort and spa.

Where we Visit : Bagno di Romagna,

This morning, we will be taking a private transfer to Bagno di Romagna, which is a small town situated in the Apennine mountains on the border between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. The town is located in the middle of the natural beauty of Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona, Campigna National Park. It is also renowned for its thermal treatment centers, thanks to the 47 C degree waters which are rich in sodium carbonate-sulphur micro elements.

After a site inspection of Hotel Terme della Fratta Spa, we will enjoy a spa experience and a light lunch. Then, we will move on to our final destination for the day, which is the Grand Hotel Terme Roseo located in the center of the town. This former Tuscan palace has been carefully restored and the cellar transformed into 6 restaurant areas where we will be enjoying dinner together.

Where we Visit : Bagno di Romagna,

This morning will be spent in enjoying the hotel facilities.  If the mountain air has filled you with energy, you might want to start the day in the gym before slipping into the thermal pool with its 46 whirlpools guaranteed to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the town, wander in the national park and take in some of the stunning views of Italy’s most ancient forest before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Where we Visit : Bologna,

Departing from Hotel Roseo in Bagno di Romagna to Bologna airport and saying goodbye before flying back home!
